Botanical Compounding Pharmacy provides specialised compounding services to support patients who have been prescribed customised medicines by their healthcare provider. 


In some cases, commercially available medicines may not be suitable due to individual needs, such as difficulty swallowing, certain dosage forms, sensitivities to specific ingredients, or allergies. In these situations, a prescriber may request a compounded formulation tailored to the patient.


Our compounding pharmacists are trained through the Professional Compounding Chemists of Australia (PCCA) and have extensive experience in preparing compounded medicines in accordance with prescribed requirements. We work closely with healthcare practitioners to ensure each formulation is prepared accurately and professionally.

Specialised Compounded Medicines

A specialist team led by Emily Loh, who has 25 years of pharmacy experience, comprising highly trained compounding pharmacists, laboratory technicians and an in-house quality assurance assessor. All compounding is performed in dedicated Melbourne laboratories using USP- or BP-standard ingredients, with comprehensive raw-material and ingredient-lot traceability.


The pharmacy maintains a structured quality assurance program that includes potency and active-ingredient testing to confirm that compounded preparations contain the intended strength, as well as in-house bacterial endotoxin testing where applicable. Its quality assurance capabilities also include data-supported stability studies and beyond-use-date support, formulation troubleshooting, analytical method development, process validation, and quality-system & compliance audits.


The team also maintains professional memberships, training and technical affiliations with recognised compounding organisations, including PCCA and Medisca.
